Maggot Drowning

Perhaps spurred on by some primitive hunter-gatherer instincts - or maybe just as a ‘low-octane’ alternative to he sailing, a little maggot drowning has become an integral part of many of these exploits.

River Thurne 2005

* Coarse fishing - species caught Bream, Roach, Perch
Largest Catch (Anoop) - Bream (right) caught Ledgering with maggot following Local knowledge and tuition from Terry at Martham

* Largest individual tally in one day 21 (G) - (together they probably weighed less than the bream!) -
including one or two which were so small that the maggots may have fancied their chances.

* Most unusual catch (N) - catching a vintage but still very usable (the watch word is still - economy!) swim feeder - even more unusual as he was spinning at the time!

Back Again in 2007......

And again Anoop took the honours in 2007 with a lovely Bream one of several he dragged up from their comfortable deep home in the River Thurne - again ledgering (he’s getting good!)
